The Cuba-EU Exchange of Experts programme promotes the development of the Cuban economy with a workshop on trade in services aimed at businessmen and public employees
Within the framework of the Cuba-EU exchange of experts programme, a workshop on trading in services was held with the participation of Cuban executives and entrepreneurs, alongside officials from the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Cuba (CCRC), the Directorate of Exports from the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment (MINCEX), and the Centre for the Promotion of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment (PROCUBA), as well as other organisations involved in the activity.
The training mainly focused on the following service sectors: tourism, travel, information technology, professional services, education and health. Likewise, the perspective of the private sector, preferential treaties, sources of information and databases on the trade in services, and the current situation of said trade in the country, were all analysed.
This activity is part of the economic and social policy established by the Cuban parliament through the Foreign Investment Law. The regulation seeks to promote the development of the country by promoting trade in exportable services by the island’s major companies and encouraging foreign investment.
