The EVALÚA project has participated in the II International Non-Refundable Cooperation Fair: the contribution of international cooperation to development, held in Quito.
The fair, organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Ecuador, is an annual meeting for display and reflection on international cooperation within the framework of the country’s sustainable development.
This year, the debate has focused on defining the priorities that the country requires from international cooperation assistance, taking into account the current reality in which, despite advances in social inclusion, education and health, gaps persist in the distribution of wealth, rights and intercultural recognition, the fight against climate change, innovation and gender equality.
It has also been established that the country has two major problems to address, such as the increase in migratory processes due to complex political problems in the region and new approaches to economic development in which the fight against climate change prevails.
The meeting has tried to define concrete actions that contribute to making the assistance of the international community as effective as possible to complement its development and improve its effectiveness by promoting other sectors such as human mobility, humanitarian aid, the circular economy and research and innovation.
The participation of EVALÚA has allowed to provide greater visibility to the actions of the project and the cooperation of the European Union, and has strengthen the relationship with other projects and countries that were present such as ABC Brazil, the Cooperation Agency of Chile, Mexico, Argentina, the World Bank in Ecuador, Spanish Cooperation, among others.
