EUROCLIMA+ is undertaking several activities in Central American countries so that they obtain better results in terms of climate change
Honduras and El Salvador have hosted separate workshops, with a common methodology, both intended to provide the Central American region with climate scenarios with an adequate resolution to plan adaptation measures.
In order that different priority sectors in adaptation to climate change are aware of the project and the expected results, a workshop of users of change scenarios has been held in Honduras, and will be held in the coming days in El Salvador. It is also intended to gather information on the specific needs of both countries so that the products obtained will be useful for planning their adaptation measures.
To carry out this activity, an expert from the Spanish State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) as well as key actors from the different sectors, have been summoned by the countries’ climate change bureaus.
On the other hand, a practical course on the extraction and use of CORDEX data has already started. This activity, taught by three AEMET experts , aims to show the different tools and procedures to follow to obtain data from the region’s climate forecasts.
This workshop is aimed at meteorological services in he Central American countries, climate change directorates and bureaus in Honduras and El Salvador and institutions in the sectors prioritised for adaptation in both countries.
