Civil Guard specialists travel to Kenya to work together to fight terrorism and improve safety in public spaces
The project, during which Civil Guard specialists will carry out the activities under the management of the FIIAPP, aims to prevent and reduce terrorist attacks and their repercussions in urban areas. Specifically, it will support three countries in sub-Saharan Africa – Senegal, Ghana and Kenya – and will strengthen local capabilities to protect these spaces and infrastructures and improve public-private cooperation in this sector.
Two experts from the Civil Guard met with representatives of the Kenyan National Police Service (NPS), the Administration Police Service (APS) and the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) to present the project and lay the foundations for joint work in the future. The Kenyan institutions are keen to take part in the project and greatly appreciate this European Union initiative.
In addition, the project team was accompanied by the delegation of the European Union and met with the Ambassador of Spain in Kenya, who has also shown interest and wishes to lend his support to the project.
