The European Union continues its commitment to strengthen the financial system in Algeria
On January 10, the launch event of the EU-Algeria twinning project was held in Algeria, in charge of improving the audit system of the Algerian General Inspectorate of Finance (IGF).
This project is part of a commitment by the European Union to modernize the Algerian financial administration since 2008. In keeping with this objective, the presented project seeks to define the role of the General Inspectorate of Finance as a guarantor of the correct use of public funds. To this end, it is committed to training officials of the Algerian financial administration, which will be supported by approximately 40 counterpart experts from the Spanish administrations.
This project, funded by the European Commission with 1,400,000 euros and managed by the FIIAPP, has a duration of 2 years and has the collaboration of the Institute of Fiscal Studies (IEF).
The event was attended by the project leader, Gonzalo Gómez de Liaño, and the head of the Economic Development and Environment team, Alejandro Bueno, as well as representatives of the Spanish Embassy and the Delegation of the European Union.
