A total of 35 professionals in the Caribbean have learnt to use this COPOLAD programme instrument through practical exercises
The Bahamas has hosted the second workshop on 'Drug Demand Reduction Planning' focused on providing training on the use of the virtual tool 'Paso@Paso'.
This instrument, developed by COPOLAD , a programme funded by the European Union and managed by FIIAPP, allows to guide the design and evaluation process of an intervention in a given territory and context.
The director of the National Anti-Drug Secretariat (NADS), Terrance Fountain, has been in charge of opening the workshop with representatives of COPOLAD and Promoció i Desenvolupament Social (PDS).
Bahamas participated as host through its most relevant institutions in this area at the national level, with the attendance of specialists from the Ministry of National Security, the Ministry of Education, the National Drug Council of the Bahamas and Rand Memorial Hospital.
This is the second of three workshops that COPOLAD, with the guidance of PDS, will be delivering in the Americas in 2019. One has already been held successfully in Argentina for the Southern Cone and the Andean countries, and the third and last subregional meeting will be held in Panama in November of this year.
