The European Union seeks to promote the digital transition of the Cuban public administration to contribute to the modernization of the economy and increase inclusion, transparency and citizen participation in a sustainable manner.
To this end, the project seeks to strengthen the use of digital tools to improve access to and quality of public services and efficiency of public administration, with greater inclusion, transparency and citizen participation.
Following the concept of digital government, it seeks to facilitate interactions between citizens, economic actors and public administration, and, among other issues, to advance in the production of statistics and analysis related to sustainable development.
In particular, it will contribute to the development of an appropriate legislative framework that guarantees data protection and privacy. The interoperability of public registries, the land registry system and the Single Window for Development Cooperation will be promoted. Digital skills and culture will be strengthened, with special attention to those groups with less access, including women, young people and the elderly.
The project will also promote digital portals for public services and telecare, and will strengthen the production of inequality-sensitive public statistics, focused on promoting social and territorial equality and equity.
