The EVALUA project has been presented at the National Autonomous University of Mexico, informing on how to strengthen public policies

The National Autonomous University of Mexico ( UNAM ) hosted the act during which the EVALUA project was presented . Its coordinator, Miguel Ángel Lombardo and Alina Orrico, project technician, analysed the regional dynamics promoted by the project in Latin American countries, from the perspective of the evaluation of public policies and the relationship existing between institutions in the different regions.
The session has served to draw attention to the way in which these institutions relate and cooperate within the framework of the project, such as joint evaluations, peer dynamics, shared reviews and exchange of methodologies .
The EVALÚA project is the first triangular cooperation initiative that aims to strengthen evaluation policies in Latin America and in the session it was explained that its actions are implemented through a network of institutions belonging to six countries: Peru, Colombia, Paraguay, Uruguay, Costa Rica and Ecuador, in an Interinstitutional Group with the active collaboration of Mexico, Chile and Brazil, which transmit different experiences in matters of evaluation policies.
The Interinstitutional Group for the Evaluation of Public Policies is a unique phenomenon in the region, since there is no other evaluation institution network dedicated to peer evaluation of public policies of partner countries. These institutions exchange knowledge, tools and methodologies, both for their application in the evaluation processes carried out, and to offer advice and serve as a reference to other national actors.
The collaborative model between institutions is the benchmark of the EVALÚA project, whose objective is to make use of the evaluation so that it impacts public policy cycles.
Funded by the European Union and coordinated by the International and Ibero-American Foundation for Administration and Public Policies (FIIAPP), EVALÚA is part of the Adelante programme and its main objective is institutionalization of an evaluation culture in the Latin American region.
