Improved management of terrorists and dangerous criminals in Turkish prisons

The project to improve the management of terrorists and criminals in Turkish prisons seeks to prevent radicalisation in Turkish prisons and more effectively manage persons deprived of liberty in line with international and European standards.

It is a twinning project between Spain and Turkey that is funded by the European Union and managed by FIIAPP. The main areas of action are: legal adaptation to European and international standards; the establishment of measures to prevent radicalisation and terrorism in prisons; the establishment of risk analysis instruments and the promotion of de-radicalisation and rehabilitation; and strengthening the training of specialists working in this field.

In order to achieve the established objectives, FIIAPP is working with the General Secretariat of Penitentiary Institutions, under the Turkish Ministry of Interior, and with the General Directorate of Prisons, under the Ministry of Justice. FIIAPP is also collaborating with specialists from other European countries in this project.
